BVB Wood Fibre for substrates: how it’s made

Over the past decades the need for complementary materials in substrates had risen. We’ve talked about one of the materials we use before; BVB Accretio which is made of sphagnum moss. Next to BVB Accretio we also process a specific type of Wood Fibre called BVB Wood Fibre into our substrates. This article focusses on the great properties this material brings to our substrates.

Interview Tree Nursery – Eurotree

Wilbert Christiaens and Eef van Os grow a wide range of conifers, shrubs and topiary plants. They own approximately 100 hectares of open, greenhouse and container fields in Melderslo, Limburg. ‘What are we good at? Why not ask us what not,’ jokes Wilbert. Interview Tree Nursery – van Opstal

Leucothoe axillaris “Curly Red” is one of the stars at Ron van Opstal’s tree nursery. During autumn, the leaves of this shrub curl up and turn purple-red. It is very popular at autumn and Christmas fairs at garden centres. ‘I try to distinguish myself in the market with varieties like this. I always go for quality, and that includes using the best growing media,’ the entrepreneur tells us.
